Started in 1974, Instant Shade has been growing and planting for almost half a century. The nursery is situated on 12 acres on the banks of the Rivanna River. With strong connections with suppliers throughout the mid-Atlantic and northeast states, we can supply anything readily available in the industry. Instant Shade is committed to sustainability and the environment, steering away from pesticides and chemicals. We place a strong emphasis on customer service and aim to create lasting relationships with our clients.

Ralph Morony
Originally from Ireland, Ralph moved to the Charlottesville area in 1980. Ralph has owned Instant Shade for over twenty years. Combining his previous experience in farm management and extensive knowledge of the central Virginia area, Ralph is committed to a standard of excellence and friendly service.
